String net type foam filled fender is manufactured with a foam core as all foam fenders. This fender type choose the manual string net as the outfit. It is an economical and portable combination. There is no formal standard for foam fenders to comply with, but its property of resistance and robustness has won world wide recognition.

Compared with pneumatic fenders, the foam fenders are much heavier and more inconvenient in storage and delivery. However, the foam fenders can remain high performance when damaged. Because of this particularity, this fender type is favored by naval applications for heavy duty. Besides the difference, the foam fenders and the pneumatic fenders share a common feature of proportional increase of energy absorption and reaction force under operation process.
